A lovely decorated Easter ornament has been installed on the upper ceiling of Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s office.
The ornament, which was placed by a member of her family in the building on Sunday, depicts a small woman wearing a red coat and a red ribbon, and wearing a gold dress.
Ms Gillard told the ABC that it was a very personal Easter decoration, and was made by her granddaughter, Samantha.
“This is very much my own creation, and it’s a little bit of a surprise that it’s here today, as it was quite a long time ago,” she said.
“It’s an original design.
It was a surprise for me to see it.”
The ornament has already been placed in the main entrance of the building.
