A vintage-inspired cocktail dress has taken the internet by storm.
The “Cotton-and-Taffy Dress” was designed by Elle DiCarlo, a former fashion editor at Glamour magazine.
She says the idea for the dress came to her after she saw how easy it was to make something from scratch, and also the fact that it was designed to be simple and flattering.
“When I first saw it I thought, ‘I’m gonna make it for myself,'” she told BuzzFeed News.
“But I thought that there were other dressmakers that were just doing it in the same way.”
DiCarlo says the dress was inspired by her own experience in New York.
She says she was a bit intimidated to make it because it was a little bit more formal than other dressmaking techniques.
“I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to do it myself,'” DiCarlos said.
“But I ended up liking it a lot.
It was a very simple dress, which is what I wanted.”
The dress is inspired by vintage-style dresses, but DiCarlses own experience as a designer led her to create the dress for her own personal use.
“My grandmother always wore a vintage dress,” she said.
“She always wore it and it was very elegant and she always had it in a very elegant, simple style.”
So I wanted to try and make something that she would wear, which was not so formal, and I wanted it to be very flattering.
“I think that a lot of women are taking to it and doing it more than just about men, or people that have been in the industry for a while.””
It’s become a more fashionable thing,” DiCarlettos told BuzzFeed.
“I think that a lot of women are taking to it and doing it more than just about men, or people that have been in the industry for a while.”
DiCardlo says she hopes the dress will be available soon for sale, but she doesn’t want to wait that long.
“Just because it’s on the internet, I don’t want people to be like, Oh I have to wait until the store comes out,” she told CBC News.
“That’s just not me.
I’m really excited.”
